"Change your mindset, change your life"

FAQ’s

Clients often comment about how “ordinary” hypnosis feels – it’s not unlike daydreaming – you can often hear everything that is being said whilst in a deeply relaxed state. We enter in and out of this very natural trance-like state several times a day – when driving, listening to music, watching TV, exercising and when deep in thought.

You could think of it as guided daydreaming, where beneficial suggestions can be directed towards your subconscious mind, helping you change unconstructive thought patterns. While you are in this relaxed state of focused attention, your mind is more responsive to suggestions for positive change.

I will gather relevant information by asking a few medical questions to gain a collection of information pertinent to you, your problems and your sleep patterns. Most importantly, this will enable me to work out how I can help you and what you want to achieve from the process. I will explain how the brain works in very simple, understandable terms and show how relevant this is to you and your situation.

Hypnotherapy is effective. However, success in not guaranteed and full client commitment is important. Listening to the track between sessions is a vital element in the process and participation is required. This will be fully explained in the Initial Consultation.

You will be sent the link to my supporting relaxation track after your Initial Consultation. Please play this when you are ready to go to sleep at night, or at an appropriate time during the day, as it will really help with the process and ensure you get the best out of the therapy.

This is personal preference. However, the clients who often get the quickest results attend weekly and listen to the track every day/each night when they go to bed.

The number of sessions needed varies for each person. Whilst a brief therapy, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy does not always offer a quick fix, it can take time (12-25 sessions is not unusual, 4 for phobias and 1 for smoking). It also requires a little bit of effort from you – if you’re open to the process and are willing to change, then hypnotherapy can provide you with lasting change for the better.
